Local history room of the Bohemian Woodland

The collection exclusively houses objects that were used in everyday life at the time.

In 1988, in the course of the first home meeting of the municipality of Klaffer am Hochficht with the former parishes of Salnau and Schönau from the Czech Republic, a sponsorship community was entered into, and at the same time that home room (former elementary school annex Klaffer am Hochficht, Dorfplatz 4) from their ancestral Bohemian Forest homeland as well as a memorial was erected near the parish church of Klaffer am Hochficht (east side). The "Association of Sudeten Germans" and the municipality of Klaffer am Hochficht are responsible for the Heimatstube. The collection contains only those objects that were used in the everyday life of a Bohemian Forest family: Crockery, clothing, small utensils, sewing boxes, souvenir pictures of deceased ancestors, recipes for ointments, tinctures, teas, ecclesiastical items (prayer books, Bible, confession book), many letters from relatives, records of various people, postmen, chimney sweepers, etc. Events: Every 2 years there is a "Heimattreffen" here. Various readings are also given on this occasion: Adalbert Stifter (organised by the district councillor Dipl.-Ing. Franz Schläger from Stuttgart), poems in dialect from the local Bohemian Forest homeland. Exchanging various experiences is the order of the day.
