Just behind the pilgrimage church Maria Trost in Rohrbach-Berg we find the Maria Hilf Chapel.

It is a very attractive central building of about 5 meters in diameter. The dome of the vault is decorated with a fresco in the style of Bartholomeo Altomonte depicting the homage of the then four continents to Our Lady. It is the only ceiling fresco from the Rococo period in the area of the Schlägler parishes.

Since the chapel was very dilapidated in the middle of the 18th century, it was completely rebuilt in 1764 by the Countess Maria Carolina von Rödern. The oral tradition attributed the chapel a much higher age. If this is true, then here was the chapel of the ruined Perger Castle.

The hiking trails Panorama, Psalmen- and Kapellenweg lead you to the chapel!

By arrangement in the parish office!
