Parish church in Helfenberg in the Bohemian Forest holiday region. The original church is said to have been located by the old lime tree (today a war memorial). The present church is located in the centre of the village, close to the banks of the Steinernes Mühl. It was originally built in the Gothic style in 1450. The Gothic tower entrance, the late Gothic main portal and the front part of the church bear witness to this. The church patron is St. Erhard, Bishop of Regensburg under the altar of Mary. In 1712 -1717 the church was rebuilt: the Gothic inner part of the church was demolished and replaced by a round-arched vault, the outer walls were mostly rebuilt and a new roof truss was put on, a music choir with staircase was built and the church received a wooden floor and new pews.
