In the Bohemian Forest, the far north of Upper Austria, the climate, the land and the people shape a culinary profile all their own. We don't have to go back to our culinary roots first, we have never forgotten them. But much more, well-kept, matured and preserved for their revelation. The journey by bike takes us to these culinary rarities, such as hoppy, tart beer or exquisite bread.

Discover treasures on the organic food trail:
Over gentle hills to crusty bread and fine beer drops. Starting from the monastery town of Aigen-Schlägl, you cycle to real moments of pleasure with Mühlviertel character. Via Rohrbach-Berg you will arrive at the Mauracher Hof, where organic bread is made to perfection with the greatest care and the very best ingredients. The next pleasure stop is Austria's largest organic medicinal herb garden, which surprises with a blossom of wild herbs at any time of the year. In the neighbouring village, the Ulrichsberger Hof awaits you, where only natural and organic produce is allowed in the cooking pot. Back in Aigen-Schlägl, discover Austria's only monastery brewery and then stop off at the Biergasthaus Schiffner, where the first beer sommelier world champion Karl Schiffner will spoil you with his specialities. And in between, plenty of time to discover, taste and marvel. A journey where flavours are celebrated and there is more time for yourself.
