Culture house next to the church in Ulrichsberg. Key in the town hall!
A worth seeing glass collection awaits the guest in the culture house in Ulrichsberg. It offers an insight into the artistic craft of glassmaking and contains over 600 exhibits. Glassy past ... At the interface of the glass region Bayerwald-Südböhmen-Mühlviertel lay glassworks Schwarzenberg and Sonnenwald. The entire glass collection is regarded as the most important regional documentation of the extinct industry over 100 years ago and contains, for example, hollow glass from the vicinity of these two glassworks. Rare pieces are mainly glasses with Biedermeier rose painting, rare, figurative designed slide decors and the strong cobalt-blue glass, and the noble ruby glass u. the citrus or amber colored glass. All techniques of shaping and refinement are traceable to these glasses.
The Šumava - our homeland ... In further, lovingly revitalized rooms of the old town hall from the year 1660 the former German-speaking inhabitants of our neighbor municipalities Oberplan and Glöckelberg furnished memorial rooms to their former hometowns - the top planners with emphasis on their big son, Adalbert donor. Another room is dedicated to the Ulrichsberg poet Pauline Bayer (some with original equipment). To marvel at there are also numerous showcases with everyday objects of everyday use, a flat room with loom and equipment for bread and milk processing.
