Introduction to the processing of straw wickerwork
In this course we will gain an insight into the craft of hat making and fashion design and learn the basic techniques.
The focus will be on the processing of straw braids. We will work and experiment with Sinamay, Parasisol, Panama and other materials - from modelling the material, sewing in the headband, processing the brim and trimming, to the finished hat. As a result, each participant will be able to take home a sun hat of their own size and design.

Course leader: DIDO VICTORIA SARGENT, USA/Germany/Austria
Born in Los Angeles, California in 1985; completed three years of training as a milliner at Zussa in Berlin in 2008, worked as a set designer and assistant set designer in Linz, Upper Austria from 2009-2013, employed as a milliner in the costume department at the Landestheater Linz since 2013; creates handmade individual pieces and custom-made items under the label "Dido Victoria Millinery".
