Knotting with old clothes
Workshop Amish Rugs with Doro Seror

In this workshop we turn old clothes into objects of art and utility.
We learn the so-called "Amish Rug Weaving" method. In this method, the work is created by a series of knots around a guide thread - it is therefore a knotting technique. This results in very stable workpieces that are well suited for use. This method requires hardly any additional equipment, making it very mobile and a great activity when travelling.
We will primarily focus on making round objects such as rugs and three-dimensional objects such as cushions and balls. Please bring discarded clothing and textiles - we only need jersey fabrics such as T-shirts, leggings, sheets and the like.
