Introduction to the art of head jewellery
In this course, we will focus on the process of creating a headdress with a purely decorative expressive function - the so-called fascinator.
The main material we focus on here is sinamay, a braid made from abaca fibres, which is very popular in the milliner's trade due to its properties. Decorative materials such as hat veils, feathers, braids/ribbons, beads etc. can be used imaginatively as trimmings and give the fascinator that certain something.
There are no limits to creativity! We take the time to get to know our materials and experiment with them. At the end of the weekend, each participant will have created their own unique piece that can be worn for various summer occasions.
