The production of knitted bead bags has a long tradition in Europe. Beads are integrated into the stitches during the knitting process to create a dense, heavy surface. Sophisticated patterns are created through the elaborate threading of different coloured beads. Two different knitting techniques are shown that can be used when working with beads.
The pattern for the course is selected in advance with the course instructor, who prepares and knits it for the participants so that they can start working straight away. A medium-sized bag will be knitted, but it will not be finished during the course; instead, all the skills will be taught that will make it possible to complete it independently at home.
The course instructor will bring lots of beaded bags and books on the technique and patterns so that everyone can delve into the subject as they wish.

Born in the Netherlands, has lived in Germany near Dortmund for 33 years, learnt bead knitting in the Netherlands, many years of research and various publications (Bead Knitting Technique, Pocket Hanger Bag, Historical Patterns, Antique Dutch Bead Purses, Money Cats, Baby Bonnets and Star Bags) to preserve the technique of bead knitting.
