GLASS MUSEUM

Ausstellung Glas aus dem Böhmerwald im Heimathaus Ulrichsberg

Glass from the bohemian forest…

is a glass collection which contains glassware from the former glassworks „Oberschwarzenberg“ and „Sonnenwald„ as well as examples of unique glasses with Biedermeier paintings, or glasses coloured cobalt blue as well as precious ruby glass and citrus and amber coloured glass. This collection presents an important documentation of a regional sector of industry, that became extinct 100 years ago.

In the same building Ulrichsberg’s museum of local history can be found with a memorial room that former citizens of Oberplan (homedisplaced Sudeten Germans) adapted in honour of their erstwhile hometown and famous „son“ Adalbert Stifter. You will have the opportunity to appreciate ancient commodities, instruments and old implements that were used for the preparation of flax!
