The look-out at the mountain Sulzberg (1041 m) gives you a beautiful view over the Vlatava reservoir as well as of Adalbert Stifters birthplace Oberplan (CZ). The main part of the area in the Czech Republic that can be seen from here, was populated by German-speaking people until the end of World War II but then the Sudeten-Germans were banished from their homes. For them the little hill on Sulzberg gave the opportunity to have a look on their former hometowns. As the trees grew bigger and the view got worse, the community of Ulrichsberg decided to raise a lookout tower. In 1967 they built up a tower of 24 m height. 137 steps lead to the top of it and beautiful hiking trails to the tower. In the summer months you can go there by car. In winter you can approach it on cross-country skis.
