"10erl Haus"-building, Aigen

The ancient guildhall and the "Honzik"-house (Marktplatz 8+10) remind of the foundation of Aigen in the 13th century and belonged together then. The former owner of the house ran into debt and had to "versilbern" (silver) his property, which means that he had to sell it.

The artist Joachim Eckl and the restorer and monument conservator Josef Wintersteiger reconstracted the building in its original style of 1792. Base material for the artistic arrangement are about 40,000 Austrian 10-penny-coins ( 10-Groschen-Münzen).
