Bohemian Forest - LANDSCAPE

In earlier times the massif of the Bohemian Forest reached altitudes three times as high as today. Nowadays the scenery is dominated by hills and mountains that have often the form of densely wooded, rounded hills. Weathered granite stacks shape the appearance of the diverse characteristic landscape and crown the peaks of „Dreisesselberg“, „Plöckenstein“, „Hochficht“ and „Bärenstein“. At the same time the massif of the Bohemian Forest is the water devide between the North Sea and the Black Sea.
